Patricia Sweeney

Patricia Sweeney, 75, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Cape Coral. She was born July 30, 1938 in Canarsie Brooklyn, NY to John and Ellen Havecker, now deceased.

Patricia was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Andrews Catholic Church. She worked in the nursing industry for many years as a nurse's aide/ home health aide, caring for the young and the elderly, always putting their needs ahead of her own. She loved to paint pictures and draw. Patricia had grown up in Canarsie, New York and met her husband Dan by being active in the community on Staten Island. They married and lived in a home right off the beach and after a few short years moved to Cape Coral, Florida where she lived for 30 years. She loved to go to the water collecting shells, walking on the beach in Cape Coral and traveling the country visiting friends and family. She missed and longed for traveling the last few years and now as one of God's Angels, she may do just that. Sit and reflect on a happy memory you have of Patricia and smile for that is what she wished for.

She is survived by her three children, Kevin and Michael Hamill and Maryellen Aikens (Michael); Grandchildren, Joseph, Ashley, Megan, Amber, Michaela and Tommy; Granddaughter, Shanna Lynn; as well as Dana Barnett.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Dan Sweeney in 2009.
