Patricia Marie Thuilot-Grimley

Patricia Marie Thuilot-Grimley, 66, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for the past 15 years, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres, FL. She was born March 27, 1958, in Port Jefferson, NY, to Albert and Anna Thuilot, now deceased. 

Pat grew up in Rocky Point, Long Island, NY and graduated from Rocky Point High School.  She was an artist at heart. Although not always practicing her art, it was the one constant in her life besides her husband, Ted.  As a travel agent for Princess Cruise Lines, she met her husband, Ted Grimley, whom she married in 1999 in Las Vegas, NV.  They traveled the world together, literally.  During the last years with Princess Cruises, they worked the summers in Denali, Alaska, returning to their Florida home just in time to stay warm for the winters.   Pat and Ted also spent time in St. Charles, MI, where Ted grew up and had family.  Pat had been active with painting, water aerobics, crocheting, needlepoint and crossword puzzles.  Pat was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges.  Her creativity and appreciation for beauty made her the inspiring free spirit that she was to the core.

She is survived by a stepson, Scott Grimley, and a stepdaughter, Amy Sung; six siblings, Kenneth Thuilot, Barbara Coviello, Joanne Minder, Catherine Deyak, Margaret Schnittman, and Stephen Thuilot; as well as many nephews and nieces and step grandchildren. 

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Grimley in July 2021; as well as a sister, Jennifer Clay, in July 2002.

A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday evening, September 19, 2024, in the Clubhouse of the Crystal Lakes Community. A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.
