Paul Allen Rainwater

February 8, 1974 - October 14, 2018

Paul Allen Rainwater, 44, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2004, formerly of MI, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Cape Coral. He was born February 8, 1974 in Muskegon, MI.

Paul was of the Christian faith. As a transplant to Florida from his native home of Michigan,Paul took great pride in his roots and was an avid if not rabid fan of the Michigan Wolverines. Even during the team’s struggles the last few years, Paul stood strong as a proud fan of the Maize and Blue and would not hesitate to tell you why his team was always better than yours. Paul’s second passion was Red Wings Hockey. He couldrecallstats and moments on the ice that likely only the most passionate fans and a handful of announcers would remember. You could often find him in his”Man Cave”. Paul would haveCoors in one hand, the remote in the other, and his dog Zeus next to him. In his room he wassurrounded by photos of famous Wolverine players, coaches and of course The Big House, Michigan Stadiumas well as hockey jerseys and images of Joe Louis Arena whileflipping between these two fall and winter sports.

Paul alsofound a hobby in grilling. He began playing around with different methods on both gas and charcoal grills as well as dabbling in smoked meats. More often than nothe was successful and those times he wasn’t, you could count on Paul brushing it off as a learning experience and trying again until he got it right. Paulapproached gillingin much the same way he approached everything in his life, with fiery passion and always from a place of love.

Paul never wanted for friends or even acquaintances. Often Paul was seen cruising the streets of his friends on his Harley. To be more accurate he was often heard long before he was seen. He always talked about how much he loved cruising along easily on that bike just feeling the wind and listening to the sound of the rumbling engine.

He could fill a room with his personality, was quick with a joke and did not embarrass easily. His heart was big and always had room for one more…One more person, one more favor, one morerequest, one more word of caution and even one more time to forgive and forget. He truly loved his family and his friends. If you were a part of Paul’s universe and needed or wanted for anything he would always go the extra mile to help in any way he could. He was a true midwestern man with a midwestern heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife of four years, Kristen Rainwater of Cape Coral; loving father, Paul Dean Rainwater of MI; four loving children, Ashley Cochran of TN, Alyssa Rainwater of NC, Amanda Rainwater of Cape Coral, and Sophie Birtley of Cape Coral; brother, Jason Rainwater of Muskegon, MI; as well as four grandchildren, Brayden and Bryson Cochran, Mariah Jabour, and Colton Haines.
