Paul Henry Vonderheide, 82, a resident of Bradenton, Florida since 1999, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born on April 26, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Bernard "Ben" and Marie Vonderheide, now deceased. Paul attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton. He was a Sergeant in the Korean War as a Field Medic and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroism. He worked on budgets in The RCA Plant in Cincinnati. He was transferred to New Jersey in 1971, where he was employed at The Harrison Plant and later to the Edison Plant as manager of International Customer Services Billing and Traffic. He moved that department to Lancaster in 1976, where later he began a new career in marketing, which he continued until his retirement.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Shirley M. Vonderheide of Bradenton; seven loving children, Michael Vonderheide (Ronnie) of Cape Coral, Jeff Vonderheide (Missy) of Louisville, KY, Ben Vonderheide of Conestoga, PA, Greg Vonderheide of Tampa, Amy Hickel (John) of Cape Coral, Molly Shaeffer of Lancaster, PA, and Pete Vonderheide (Kate) of Annapolis, MD; sister, Marie Cucinotta of Cincinnati, OH and brother, Vinny Vonderheide of Lafayette, LA; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Vonderheide and John Vonderheide, Jr., as well as a sister, Joan Vonderheide.
