Pauline Lucille Staunton, 96, a Cape Coral, FL resident since 1982, formerly of Chesapeake Beach, MD passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Cape Coral. She was born march 20, 1920 in Washington, DC to Nicholas and Zakia Neam, now deceased.
Pauline was born and raised in Washington DC of Lebanese decent and of the Eastern Orthodox faith and was known on occasion to attend the Geek Orthodox church of St. George in Washington, DC with other members of her family. She was a loyal public servant of the United States Federal Government for over forty years retiring as a GS-12 with the Health and Human Services Agency as a Health Education Grants Specialist. Before and during retirement Pauline enjoyed traveling between her residences in Maryland and Florida maintaining homes and many close friendships in both locations. She loved the water and frequently boated in both the Chesapeake Bay and Cape Coral water ways.
She is survived by three loving children, Diane B. Soppa (James) of North Ft. Myers, FL, Neil A. Swift (Carrie) of Richland, WA, and John J. Swift (Debi) of Woodridge, IL; two loving sisters, Jeannette Dobeck of Philadelphia, PA and Isabel Grob of North Ft. Myers, FL; six loving grandchildren, Bridget, Nicholas, Ryan, Jason, Erin, and Steven; three great grandchildren, Courtney, Jordan, and Dillon; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as Scooter the dog.
Pauline was married for over 30 years to Henry J. Staunton of Cape Coral, Florida. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Neil A. Swift in 1962, as well as five siblings all of whom she loved and missed dearly. Now she joins them in ever lasting peace and rest.
