Peter Guy Dietrich

Peter Guy Dietrich, 71, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Reading, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers. He was born on April 27, 1943 in Reading, PA to Bruce and Lillian Dietrich, now deceased.

Before retiring in 2003, he worked for Agere Systems, formerly known as Western Electric, for 36 years. He was also an Army Veteran.

Pete was very active throughout his life. In his early days, he was a diver for Steel Pier in N.J. He was also an avid bowler; he received many accolades including induction into the USBC Bowling Hall of Fame. Pete's other hobbies included golfing and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his 12 grandchildren. Pete was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral.

His sense of humor is what he will be remembered for most- thanks for all the laughs, POP POP!

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Elaine D. Dietrich of Cape Coral; his five beloved children, Kim Moyer (Christopher) of Enola, PA, Robin Essick (Bryan) of Fleetwood, PA, Jeff Mell (Michelle) of Ft. Myers, FL, Terry Mell (Christine) of Cape Coral, FL and Beth Fahnlander (Christian) of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Sharon Kline (Richard) of Bethleham, PA, one brother, Robert Silcox (Wendy) of Reading, PA; eleven grandchildren, Arianna, Aidan, Timothy, Elyse, Tristan, Jordan, Ryder, Alec, Casey, Nicholas and Charlie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Katzaman.
