Peter C. Portman, 81, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away October 11, 2022 at home, surrounded by family. He was born in Peoria, Illinois on October 29, 1940.
Pete married Patricia Vonderheydt on February 3, 1962. In 1983, Pete moved with his wife to Cape Coral, Florida. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, walking, tennis, golf, and was an avid auto racing fan.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Chris Portman of North Fort Myers and Michael Portman of Lehigh Acres; granddaughter, Heather (Portman) Fitzgerald and her husband, Jack Fitzgerald; as well as two great-grandchildren, Josie Fitzgerald and Nathan Fitzgerald. He is also survived by his sister, Denise (Portman) McCormack of Peoria, and his cousin by marriage, Gail Moreland, of Woodstock, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916.
