Rafael tragically passed away on Friday August 29th, 2025. He was just weeks from his 57th Birthday. He was born on September 18th, 1968 at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was the middle child of Rafael Colón Sr. and Luisa Gustin (Corsale). Growing up in Brooklyn he was a huge New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed going to baseball games with his family. In 1979 his family moved from Brooklyn, NY to Palm Beach County, FL. Where he graduated from Santaluces High school in Lantana, FL. in 1986. Rafael went on to become a very talented singer-songwriter and devoted family man.

In 1993 he met the love of his life Malia Cecelia Gragg, and their journey together was filled with music, love and adventure. As a talented musician, Rafael sang and played guitar for numerous bands, including his own band, BTB. His passion for music took off in Cape Coral Florida where Rafael and his family settled in 2011, also where he founded BTB in 2014 and became a staple in the community. His band performed for numerous benefits and big venues like Cape Coral bike night, Barbecue Bands and Brew and many others, weddings, and popular bars amongst the community. His voice touch the hearts of many. Beyond music, he was also a skilled Craftsman, bringing creativity and precision to his custom woodworking projects. He left an incredible mark on the lives of those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father Rafael Colón Sr.

He is survived by his fiance and life partner Malia Gragg; his children Miranda Colón, Zachary Colón ( Chrissy Burgess) Samantha Colón ( Josh Borras); his grandchildren, Elijah Colón, Mateo Colón, Enzo Colón and Novalynn Colón; his mother Luisa Gustin; his sister Jaqueline Hanna; his brother Steven Colón; his nephews, Ethan Colón, Joshua Jeffreys, Justin Jeffreys, Jordan Hanna, Jared Hanna, Jackson Hanna; his great niece and nephew, Madeline Jeffreys, Luke Jeffreys; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rafael's legacy lives on through the countless memories he created for his family, friends and fans. His music, love, and spirit will be deeply missed, but his impact will forever be felt. Rest in peace, Rafael. We will love and miss you always...
