Richard Edgar Dowd

Richard Edgar Dowd, 77, a Lee County resident since 1982, formerly of Waterford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born on May 20, 1937 in Sinclairville, New York to Edgar Dowd and Aretha Shawl Dowd, now deceased.
Richard will be remembered as a kind and loving man whose life was defined by his service to others. He never failed to be an encouragement and was always willing to open his heart and home to those in need.
He is survived by four loving children, Debra Todd, Rick Dowd (Lorie), Randy Dowd, and Jason Dowd, all of Cape Coral; a brother, Jack Dowd of Jamestown, New York; ten grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh, Stephen, Rachel, Sarah, Brandon, Austin, Casey, Olivia, and Jake; as well as three great grandchildren, Star, Johnny, and Oliver.
Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Stutzman.
Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy E, Cape Coral, 33909 on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM.
