Richard Gregory Hickey

Richard Gregory Hickey, 65, a Cape Coral resident since 1994, formerly of the east coast of Florida and New York, passed away on December 13, 2014. He was born on May 27, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Richard and Jacqueline Hickey, Sr., now deceased. Richard was of the Catholic faith. Rich made countless friends through his almost 30 years in the automotive business, the last 20 here in Lee County. He touched and enriched the lives of many children through his volunteer efforts at Gulf Elementary school, reading with them in his free time. He will be remembered as having a wicked sense of humor, always bringing fun and laughter to all of the many many lives he touched. He will forever be remembered as a New Yorker through and through loving his beloved Yankees and Giants. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy R. Hickey of Cape Coral; two loving sons, Brian Hickey of Howard Beach, NY and Zachary Hickey of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Susie Seeley of Suffern, NY; mother- in-law, Gloria Bernstein of Deerfield Beach; sister-in-law, Marilyn and John Moore of Port Charlotte, FL; one niece, Jaime Danfora and one nephew, Rob Moore; as well as brothers-in-law, Jay Lampach, Chester Kielkowski, Jerry Kielkowski and Daniel Bernstein and their families.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patricia Lampach and Jacqueline Zelo.
