Richard Alfred Petit, Sr.

Richard Alfred Petit, Sr., a resident of Cape Coral since 2008, formerly of Meriden, CT, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at home with family by his side.  He was born November 16, 1942 in Meriden, CT to the late Roland and Emma (Aubin) Petit.

Richard graduated from Maloney High School and in 1993 he retired from GM Delco Moraine after 27 years.  He was an avid #3 Dale Earnhardt racing fan and the NY Yankee’s, which he passed his love down to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Beaudry) Petit of Cape Coral; Daughter, Michelle Leon of Meriden, CT; Sons, Richard Petit, Jr. (girlfriend, Annette Puckett) of Cape Coral; and Bryan Petit (Kelly) of Palm Coast, FL; three grandchildren, Jaime Lynn Petit, Caiden Leon  and Emma Petit; brother, Paul Petit of Meriden, Ct; sister-in-law, Carol Petit of Meriden, CT; niece, Lynn Campbell; nephew, Michael Petit; Aunt Jean Petit of Meriden, Ct as well as a special friends, Angel and Christina Pignataro.

Richard was predeceased by his son James (Jamie) Petit, brothers, Roland “Pete” Petit and Arthur Petit, as well as his in-laws Robert and Teresa Beaudry.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, October 28, 2019 at Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Chaplain Terry Rose officiating.
