Robert Higgs

Robert Higgs, 71, of Cape Coral, Florida died Friday, November 11 at home. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Laura Tegge Higgs; their children, Sara Higgs Kalbhenn (Art) and Thomas J. Higgs, III; and two granddaughters, Addison and Kenley Kalbhenn, all of Cape Coral, Florida. He also survived by a sister, Carol Low of Honey Brook, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Higgs, Jr. and Harriet Higgs.

Robert graduated from Pascack Hills HS, Montvale, NJ in 1969, and attended Elon University, Elon, NC where he met Laura. They lived in northern NJ before moving to central coastal NJ where they raised their children. Bob owned and operated a Carvel Ice Cream franchise in Howell, NJ, and then owned/operated several Manhattan Bagel franchises in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Bob was very active in their church and was a Boy Scout troop leader for many years. He also enjoyed family camping, especially with many families from the church. These years were followed by a move to

Myrtle Beach, SC for eight years, then finally moving to Cape Coral to be near the new grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 4-8 PM at the family home.
