Robert Percy Sluder, 68, a Cape Coral resident for the past two years, formerly of St. Augustine, FL and the Philippines, passed away on February 5, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born on February 23, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Lillian and Alger Sluder, now deceased.
Robert was of the Pentecostal faith and attended City Gate Ministries in Fort Myers, FL. After retiring in 2010, he served as a missionary in Inopacan Leyte in the Philippines where he built The Apostolic Independent Mission Church. He was a wonderful husband, brother and friend. He was a great man of God with unmeasurable faith. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and those whose lives he touched on his earthly journey. You are gone to be with Jesus but never forgotten by all who knew and loved you.
He is survived by beloved wife, Concepcion Sluder of Cape Coral and the Philippines; three children; as well as six siblings, Larry Sluder (Jackie) of FL, Earl Sluder of FL, Lorraine Bradley of FL, Jimmy Sluder of FL, Shelby Edge (Wally) of FL, and Gary Sluder (Melba) of FL.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Ralph Sluder, Kathleen Shrewsbury, Dennis Sluder, and Jerry Sluder.
A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at CityGate Ministries, 1735 Jackson Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901 with Pastor David Pleasant officiating.
