Robert “Bob” Daniel Stewart, 85, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023. He was born April 16, 1938 in Overland, MO.
Mr. Robert Stewart, CPA, Partner in Gilbert Wallace and Stewart CPA Firm, Fort Myers, Florida was a consummate professional, servicing his clients with integrity and honesty. He brought to the accounting profession a high standard of professionalism, which gained him respect from his clients and all who worked with him.
Bob, as he was familiarly called, married Marcia, his wife of 62 years in 1961. Bob is the son of Velma and Bert Stewart.
As a member of the community, Bob worked with the United Way and was a member of the Optimist Club International and Sons of the American Revolution.
Bob loved to camp, scuba dive, and travel. Being together as a family, they shared the experiences of rafting the Colorado River, diving in the Florida Keys and exploring Nova Scotia. Bob had a passion for the game of Pickleball and was an avid player of the game. His love of any sport that contained a ball drew him to a court or field.
Bob traced his lineage back to Daniel Boone. Through his direct line to Daniel Boone, he is a Son of the American Revolution (SAR). A proud Heritage he has passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his mother and father. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marcia; two children, Lisa (Andy) and Bobby (Melody); one sister, Shirl (Jim); six grandchildren, Lauren (Brandon), Aaron, Nick, Jess, Boone and Bryson; two great grandchildren, Charli and Colton; as well as a loving family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob had a great sense of humor and brought fun and joy to those around him. He was loved and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, December 17, 2023 for Robert Daniel Stewart. Military Funeral Honors will be performed by a Military Honor Guard at 2:00 PM. An American Flag will be presented to Bob’s family as a tribute for his military service.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Timber Lodge, 42147 Timber Dr. Babcock Ranch, Florida 33982 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. (Please feel free to speak at the service.)
