Roberta Suzanne (Powanda) Futch

Roberta Suzanne (Powanda) Futch of Bokeelia passed away peacefully on Friday morning (February 10, 2023). “Berta”, “Birda”, “Bird”, or “Baby Bird” as she was affectionately known, was born in Manchester, NH on February 16, 1964 to Patricia Mae (Cote) Powanda and Paul Powanda. Berta will be remembered most for her giving nature; the way she generously took care of everyone around her; the vivacious energy she brought into every room; the time spent playing (spoiling) her grandchildren, and her “mother bear” spirit which was quick to protect everyone around her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 35 years, Harold Futch of Bokeelia; sisters, Helen Saraiva and Justine Powanda; brother, Charlie Powanda; children Stormie, Justin, Jason, LaTrisha, Alisha, and Jeremy; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; as well as extended family and countless friends who were treasured as family. 

To Berta from her many children, “Thank you for being our mother, protector, and friend. We are, who we are, in large part because of you and will always cherish our memories together. Although we will no longer see your beautiful face every day, you will forever have a place in our hearts.”

The family will be Celebrating the Life of Roberta Suzanne Futch on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Pine Island United Methodist Church, 5701 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia, FL 33922.  We invite you to stop by and share your memories anytime between 12:30pm and 3:30pm.
