Roberto Jaime Mendez

Roberto Jaime Mendez, 35, a Southwest Florida resident for the last 15 years, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Ft. Myers. He was born July 18, 1979 in Baltimore. Roberto was a member of Tree of Life Church, Naples, FL. He took pride in the time spent in Haiti on a mission trip, and had a big heart. Roberto dedicated his life to the Lord. Loved his church and his Brothers in recovery. He enjoyed cooking and was excellent in the art of wood flooring. He had an infectious smile and a kind heart. His heart was in the right place always making efforts to speak out to the community and share his story to help others. He wanted to work for Christ. He had plans to become a vet tech, he loved animals. He also wrote lyrics and enjoyed music and he was a good dancer. He will also be remembered for the love he had for his son, Angelo.

He is survived by his beloved son, Angelo Mendez of Baltimore; his parents, Debra George of Perryhall, MD and Jamie Lugo of Baltimore; as well as four siblings, Nicole George of Ft. Myers, FL, Paul Terriult of St. Augustine, FL, Ammie Lugo-Johnson of WVA and Julio Lugo also of Baltimore.

Memorial services in Maryland held at a later time, date and location to be determined.
