Ronald Dominick Magliochetti

December 2, 1951 — May 31, 2024

Ronald Dominick Magliochetti, 72, a resident of Estero, FL, for the past five years, formerly of Duluth, GA, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, in Estero. He was born December 2, 1951, in Bridgeport, CT, to Anthony and Rose Magliochetti, now deceased.

High school sweethearts, he and his wife, Maureen, celebrated more than 50 years of marriage full of love, laughter, music, good food, and travel. They laid the groundwork for their four children—Jaime-lyn, Ron Jr., Nicholas, and Michael—to follow their passions: Jaime-lyn in raising her family and hairstyling; Ron Jr. in piloting and wine; Nicholas in music; and Michael in the arts. Ron instilled in his family that “this [life] is not a dress rehearsal.”

Music and culture were a huge part of Ron’s life; knowing Ron, you knew how much he loved Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury (and if he didn’t tell you, the library of books and memorabilia from the two served as a good hint). If you were lucky enough to spend the holidays with him, you might have been treated to his famous Gravy, which took multiple days to prepare (and required as many martinis, shaken cold, up, with a twist).

Ron was as strong and pragmatic as he was loving and compassionate. When his grandson, Tyler, faced life-threatening brain cancer, Ron stayed by his and Jaime-lyn’s side through every moment—good and bad—on the road to recovery, while fiercely advocating on their behalf through it all. NEGU.

Ron was also loyal in every aspect of his life. He dedicated 37 years to UPS, where he loved what he did and the people he worked with. There, he made lifelong friendships with everyone whose lives he touched and built a legacy of integrity, honesty, and trust.

Ron wasn’t one to settle. He always sought out “the best of the best” in everything—cars, boats, planes, vacations, casinos, and more. If he decided something was worth doing, it was worth doing to its fullest. He liked cooking, so he built a restaurant. He liked flying, so he became a pilot. He liked golfing, so he perfected his swing. He liked Elvis, so he and Maureen saw him thirteen times in concert. But most of all, he loved being a father to his four children.

Ron’s life was a testament to his unwavering dedication, boundless passion, and profound love for his family and friends. His legacy is carried forward not just in the incredible achievements and memories, but in the values he instilled in those who knew him: the importance of loyalty; the pursuit of excellence; and the courage to face life's challenges head-on. Ron's spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to live fully, love deeply, and always strive for the best. He was and always will be “taking care of business in a flash.”

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Maureen Magliochetti of Estero; four loving children, Jaime-lyn Wolter (Timothy) of Ladera Ranch, CA, Ronald Magliochetti, Jr. (Heather) of Fort Myers, FL, Nicholas Magliochetti (Luci) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Michael Aaron Magliochetti (William) of Seattle, WA; sister, Donna Smith (Mark) of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Pamela Magliochetti of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Wyatt, Ron III, and Vincent; several nieces and nephews; as well as Indie and Bowie, the pups.

Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony “Butch” Magliochetti.
