Rosa Ratta

Rosa Ratta, 80, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL since December 2023, formerly of Warren, MI, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. She was born April 3, 1944 in Montepaone, Italy to Giuseppe and Rosina Ratta, now deceased.

Rosa was of the Catholic faith. She was the matriarch of the family after the passing of her grandmother and mother.  Rosa worked at Winkelman’s for 30 years, most of it as a manager.  She was a strong woman, who came to the United States from Italy at 11 years old; she didn’t speak a word of English, but it didn’t stop her from succeeding.  Rosa was a beloved daughter, sister and Aunt.  Her nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews loved her immensely and she loved them the same. Her whole family would dare you to find a better cook; she was always sending home care packages to her family. To say she will be missed would be an understatement.  

She is survived by four siblings, Sara Singer (Joseph) of Stamping Ground, KY, Josie Komosinski (Kenneth) of Warren, MI, Joe Frank Ratta (Joanne) of Macomb, MI, and Nina Gonzalez of North Fort Myers, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, as well as a brother, Phil Ratta; and brother in law, Raymond Gonzalez.
