Rosemarie Elfriede Stolczenberger

Rosemarie Elfriede Stolczenberger, 87, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1999, formerly of CA, WI and Germany, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Cape Coral. She was born October 31, 1934 in Germany to Rudolf and Elfriede Dettke, now deceased.

Rosemarie was an extraordinary, remarkable, and of all, a kind and loving person. She once mentioned that she would have never envisioned how her journey through life would lead her to the many destinations it did. Starting from the small town of Warbende to Neustrelitz in East Germany onto Mainz in West Germany and onto the United States capitalizing on each opportunity.  

Regardless of the circumstances Rosemarie always had a hands on mentality to create a safe & warm home for her beloved late husband Joseph, immediate & extended family and her friends, whether they lived near or far.

She always had an open door for everyone around her, ever willing to help in whatever capacity she could, and would listen carefully to their thoughts, joys or worries, whatever one would have to share. Kind, sincere but also firm as needed, honest words came easily to her. She imparted authentic & heartfelt wisdom, borne from her life’s experiences & knowledge.

Professional seamstress by trade as well as business woman, other occupations by default included sales person, Chef, book keeper, nurse, chauffeur, supervisor, always ensuring that the family moved forward in the right direction. Her greatest happiness and accomplishment was seeing her two sons grow up and make their way through life.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing in her spare time, walking her loyal dogs, landscaping, appreciated a refreshing swim and was invariably up to date with current affairs, be it domestically, or from her native Germany & Joseph’s Hungary.

She wove her path through life, leaving beautiful patterns in many hearts. Her tender & joyful nature, unmistakable beautiful smile will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who have nothing but everlasting love and gratitude for the times spent together.

She is survived by her loving children, Burkhard Bruessow (Monika) of Naples, FL, and Bodo Stolczenberger of Chicago, IL; brother, Horst Dettke (Marianne) of Germany; brother-in-law, Lasclo Nyikos of Wisconsin; grandchild, Daniela; as well as great grandchildren, Malte and Mia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alexander Stolczenberger and sister, Erika Nyikos.
