Scott Alan Williams

Scott Alan Williams, 65, a Cape Coral, Florida resident since 1999, formerly of Buffalo, NY and Brown Summit, NC, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Cape Coral. He was born September 9, 1960, in Chicago, IL to Roberta and Raymond Williams, now deceased.

Scott was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Cape Coral, and was retired from the United States Coast Guard. During his career in the Coast Guard, he was honored by serving in St. Thomas as well as being a guard of the Light house in Georgetown, SC. He was an avid fisherman, from fishing in small towns to the Amazon and Alaska. During his time here with us he was know as the “Human Metal Detector, he was a collector of all things collectable. He is always going to be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family, friends and all the people he encountered throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Carmen Williams; two daughters, Dannette Hernandez and husband Nelson of Cape Coral and Dagmar Marrero and husband Tony of San Antonio, TX; three siblings, Craig Williams and wife Patti of Stokesdale, NC, Cory Buck of Gibsonville, NC and Jodie Strader and husband Skeeter of Browns Summit, NC; four grandchildren, Giancarlo, Cristian, Giselle and Noah; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. Entombment committal services will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service with United States Coast Guard Honors to be rendered.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Scott Williams are suggested to United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and Moffit Cancer Center.
