Skeet Kelly Petersen

Skeet Kelly Petersen, 44, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was born on October 13, 1980, in Kingston, NY, to the late Keith LaPaige and Nancy Weir Petersen Bradford.

Skeet was a free spirit and a true adventurer at heart. He attended Berkeley College for two years and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A passionate cook and avid traveler, he explored 11 countries and embraced every opportunity for adventure—from snowboarding down snowy slopes to racing motocross tracks. Known for his deep, reflective nature, Skeet was a philosopher in his own right, often bringing meaning and perspective to the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Reife Petersen and his wife Andreana of Cape Coral, Bree Petersen of Oregon, and Aree Petersen of Kingston, NY. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Jean Rooney; as well as his beloved nephew, Jordan, and niece, Charlotte. Skeet shared a special bond with his dear friend, Serena Gibson of Cape Coral, who remained a constant presence in his life.

A private family gathering will be held to honor and celebrate Skeet’s life.

Skeet will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and the thoughtful conversations he inspired. He will be deeply missed.
