Teddy "Zaz" Farrugia

Teddy “Zaz” Farrugia, 65, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on April 15, 2025, after a life lived large, loud, and with limitless love. Born on January 15, 1960, in Gozo, Malta, Teddy came to the United States at the age of 17 with big dreams and an unshakeable spirit.

His presence was warm and welcoming to all – he made an imprint on every soul. Teddy was many things: a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, and a doting grandfather. He was also the proud father to his beloved dogs, Brodie and Loulou, who enjoyed the table scraps which he so generously spared. Teddy owned T. Farrugia Construction Corp. in New York City, doing his business the same as he lived - with grit and charm that made you feel like family.

Teddy was the life of every party, the loudest laugh in the room, and the man most likely to offer you Scotch, food, or both. Despite his loud mouth, his even bigger heart was there to back it up.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Carmela and Joseph, who we’re sure were the first to greet him with a plate of Pastizzi and the warmest of welcomes. He is survived by his wife Christine; his children Carly and Joseph; his granddaughters Carina and Nicola; and a wide circle of extended family, lifelong friends, and anyone lucky enough to have crossed his path.

A celebration of Teddy’s life will be held at a future date. Details will be shared through Christine & Joseph’s social media accounts.

Zaz, you left us with unforgettable memories, millions of stories that were mostly true, and a legacy of love that will never fade. We’ll miss you like crazy. In the words of his loving wife Christine, “sail away my baby”.
