Thomas Wirth Marrs, 78, of Washington Township, MI and a seasonal resident of Bokeelia,FL. since 1980, passed away peacefully after a hard fought, very courageous battle with Cancer on February 19, 2016 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. He was born on December 8th, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Chester and Evelyn Marrs.
After High School, Tom volunteered for the U. S. Army. He was stationed in Germany and enjoyed traveling in Europe when on leave. After his Military service, he returned to Michigan to begin his lifelong career as a Project Engineer at General Motors Fisher Body Division, retiring in 1996.
After retirement he was delighted to spend even more time in his beloved Bokeelia--AKA "Paradise". He improved his Golf game, became a pretty good Tennis player, biked sometimes 10 miles a day and enjoyed outings --Fishing and just riding around-in his boat. Also very important and enjoyable to him was serving as the "Maintenance and Landscaping Supervisor" at Captain's Cove Condos. He worked hard to keep the property attractive and in good condition
He is survived by Camille, his cherished wife of 53 years; two beloved sons, Jeffrey (Lynn) of Royal Oak, MI, Donald (Paula) of Warren, MI; Sisters Arlene Huck (the Late Gary) of Macomb Township, MI and Sally Slowke (Alan) of Shelby Township, MI; sister in law Barbara Marrs of Macomb Township, MI as well as the greatest grandchildren in the world--Trevor, Lauren, Alexa and Olivia. He is also survived by many loving family members and lots and lots of good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother C.J. (Chester Joseph, Jr.)
