Thomas Harry Meiselbach, 90, a resident of Cape Coral since 2019, formerly of Naples, FL, Sterling Heights, MI, and Rogers City, MI, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, peacefully at his Cape Coral home.
He was born January 5, 1935 in Detroit, MI to Walter and Salina Meiselbach, now deceased.
Thomas graduated from St. Ambrose Catholic School in Grosse Pointe, MI in 1953. After moving to Sterling Heights, he attended and taught catechism at St. Matthias Catholic Church. While working and raising our family, he cherished his time coaching boy’s baseball, despite raising two young girls. As a Former baseball player, he was so happy to be able to continue to teach so many wonderful boys that still to this day lovingly refer to him as “Coach.”
He was a proud Army Veteran and a General Motors retiree. He enjoyed his beautiful lake house in Rogers City, MI for many years where he loved boating, fishing or just sitting and gazing out at his Lake Huron beach view. He loved to tell stories about sailing the Great Lakes, his Army adventures, and all his high school shenanigans. He enjoyed sitting around playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He later found much enjoyment hitting some of the local casinos.
He loved to end the evenings by making his infamous “Papa’s root beer floats” for his grandchildren.
He was loved by everyone who knew him, he had the biggest heart and the most gentle hands.
He will always be remembered as the strongest, happiest, most loving and proud gentleman to ever grace this earth and he will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sandy Meiselbach of Cape Coral; two loving daughters, Kellie Ann Meiselbach-Klarich (Brian) of Cape Coral, and Kerri Lynn Meiselbach-Gursinski (loving son in law Darryl) of Englewood, FL; former son in law, Michael Klarich of Hubbard Lake, MI; nephew, Tim Siegel (Lynn) of Clinton Township, MI; grandchildren, Katherine (Dean), Kristina, Justin, Nicholas, and Krystal; great granddaughter, Layne; as well as his puppy dog Rocco.
Thomas was preceded in death by two beautiful sisters Mary Lou Smith, and Joan Siegel.
