Thomas Michael (Mike) Smith

Thomas Michael (Mike) Smith of North Fort Myers, FL, died on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023 at age 73.

Mike was born in Tuscaloosa, AL, to Harold and Lorene Smith. He graduated from Brookwood High School in 1967 and married Carol McKinney Smith in 1968. Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama, received his Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and earned his Doctor of Business Administration from Argosy University. Throughout his life, he worked in the banking industry, taught as a professor of business studies, and was a dealer of rare and antiquarian books. Mike enjoyed mentoring, teaching Bible Studies and loved spending time with family and friends. He was also a plant enthusiast who inherited his love for gardening from his mother and continued her legacy of growing beautiful gardens.

His life is celebrated by Carol, his wife of 55 years; his children, Thomas (Leslie), Michelle, Matthew (Erica), Gevorg (Seta); his grandchildren, MaKenzie (Tanner), Haley, Armen, Arpi, Brett, Brooke, Michael, Briley, his great-granddaughter Lillee; his brother, Woody (Judy); as well as his extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene located at 6781 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917 on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 5:30 pm. Following the Service, everyone is invited to the reception in the fellowship hall.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Circlewood Baptist Church, 2201 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa AL 35405.

The family asks that donations go to the North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene (Building Fund) at 6781 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917.
