Thomas “Bruce” Wilson, 66, a lifelong resident of LaBelle, FL passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born August 27, 1958 in Fort Myers.
Bruce was a member of Baptist Cowboy Church Ministries in LaBelle. He was an avid fisherman who went crappie fishing every chance he got with his son. Lake Okeechobee was his home away from home. He enjoyed sitting around with old friends and family telling stories from the past. He loved watching college football and the Little League World Series. He enjoyed his wife’s good home cooked meals and desserts. He worked for US Sugar for 30 years and was dedicated to his work. He enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays when the whole family would gather to celebrate. The holiday he enjoyed the most was Thanksgiving when his brother-in-law Buddy would come to visit 2-3 weeks and the two of them spent every day from before daylight to dark fishing for crappie on Lake Okeechobee.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 46 years, Betty Jo Wilson of LaBelle; loving mother, Laura Wilson of LaBelle; two loving children, Joey Wilson (Kathy) of LaBelle, and Kristen Pyle (Dathan) of LaBelle; seven grandchildren, Chase, Austin, Raylee, Kinsley, Alexis, Brooklyn, and Colten; as well as a great granddaughter, Everly.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Buster Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church of LaBelle, 330 N. Main Street, LaBelle, FL 33935 with Pastor James Holland officiating. Committal Services to follow at Fort Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle.
