Tyler Francis Richards

Tyler Francis Richards, 18, a Cape Coral resident of ten years, formerly of Pine City, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born October 4, 1996 in St. Paul, MN.

Tyler was a thriving Senior at Ida Baker High School studying to become a fire fighter. He studied at the Fort Myers Fire Academy as a full time student, had previously been active in JROTC and his chosen career path was to be a fire fighter in the military. Tyler was a regular blood donor, a designated organ donor and always giving his time and service to the Cape Coral and Fort Myers Communities. Not only was he a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, but his passion and knowledge of football would amaze you and he was unbeatable in Madden Football. He will be deeply missed by his Family and Friends.

He is survived by his mother, Heather Richards of Cape Coral; father, Ted Richards of St. Paul, MN; stepfather, Gerald Spedding of Lockport, NY; three brothers, Tj Lewis, Jesse Richards and Nicholas Richards; maternal grandmother, Sandra Mackey; aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his dog, Tyson.

Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Whaley and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Fern (Punky) Richards, all of Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in memory of Tyler Richards are suggested to The Fort Myers Fire Academy, 3800 Michigan Ave, Ft. Myers, FL 33916.

A Memorial Service will be held 6:30 PM Monday, January 12, 2015 at Christian Life Fellowship, 1200 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991 with Pastor David Comer officiating.
