Vernon Knowles Cumbia

Vernon K. Cumbia, 85, formerly of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends in Cape Coral, FL on December 14, 2015. He was a retired Master Sergeant and Veteran of over 22 years and in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Cumbia; daughters Donna Rosenthal and Tracy Wilson; a son, Jeffrey Cumbia, Sr., 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. D. Cumbia, Sr. and R. L. Cumbia of Rocky Mount, NC; his step-mother, Elsie Landry of Frostproof, FL; his brothers, Clarence Cumbia of Florence, SC; Robert Cumbia of Sneads Ferry, NC; sister, Louise Burch of Portsmouth, VA; and a daughter, Sandra Matherly of Greer, SC. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at LaFayette Memorial Park Cemetery; 2301 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301 at 11:00 a.m. with military honors.
