Virginia Annette Dunham

Annette Dunham, also lovingly known as Ann, passed away peacefully the morning of December 8th, 2022 under hospice care in Cape Coral, FL , and was reunited with the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, Franklyn. Despite their separate illnesses, Ann & Franklyn were fortunate to spend their final years of life together. Ann was born on May 7th, 1937 to Louise & Roger Hoaglin in Johnson City, NY. Ann was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two younger brothers, Norman & Harold; and her Aunt Genevieve, who was a very important and special role model for Ann.

Ann graduated from Johnson City HS in January 1955, where she excelled academically. During high school Ann enjoyed volunteering as a Candy Striper. Ann enrolled at Harpur College (SUNY Binghamton) where she met Franklyn in a math class. Ann enjoyed preparing homemade meals, canning, making jams & sewing. After her children were all in school, she became a teacher’s aide, working with special needs children.

Ann loved to shop, whether bargain hunting or antiquing. She had an interest in the arts, visiting museums, listening to music, or trying her hand in painting. Later in life, Ann’s greatest joy was traveling with Franklyn throughout the US and Europe, making wonderful memories and friends along the way. She also loved spending time with her children and their families, making many memories on those adventures.

Ann is survived by her children, Sallie Dunham-Davis, Holly Dunham-Wheeler (Brian), Martin (Debbie), and Terri Dunham-Bay (Steve); grandchildren, Zachary Davis, Alexis Davis, Megan Schweiger (Joel), Ian Wheeler, Connor Dunham (Haley), Chad Dunham, Miranda Bay and Curtis Bay; as well as six beautiful great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
