Virginia "Ginny" Ann McDevitt

Virginia Ann McDevitt, "Ginny", 66, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of Leominster, MA, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Cape Coral. She was born July 13, 1948 in Newton, MA to Salvatore and Mary Taverna, now deceased.

Ginny was an EMT in Townsend, MA. She worked at Littleton Police Department as a dispatcher and a Special Officer. She also owned and operated a transport company in Ft. Myers, FL for the last nine years. Ginny will be remembered for her determination and fortitude, when life got tough she would always hang in there and keep going. She was a beloved grandmother to Nick and Ari. Ginny had a great sense of humor that would make us laugh. She was a great cook. She will be missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Robert Joseph McDevitt of Cape Coral; three children, Robert J. McDevitt, Jr. of Boston, MA, Salvatore Taverna and wife Ann of Orange, MA and David McDevitt of Alabama; two sisters, Suzanne Carmel of Ft. Myers and Rosemary Mazzola of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Nick and Ari; sister-in-law, Patricia Mullen of Billerica, MA; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as Mikey the black lab.

Virginia was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Coraccio.

A private memorial services will be held.
