Mr. Wayne Hallam formerly of Chicago, Illinois died in Cape Coral, FL on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Mr. Hallam was born December 26, 1937 at 3530 West Lake Street, Chicago, IL. Mr. Hallam retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer after a distinguished 23-year career, which included tours of duty in Japan, Italy, Vietnam, Germany, Korea, and Thailand. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal as well as other service medals and awards for his service. Mr. Hallam spent a 20-year career as an Administrator with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical services, serving at VA Medical facilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Long Beach, California, and Grand Island, Nebraska. He was involved in aiding other veterans with acquiring medical and other benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Hallam is survived by his wife, Olivia Jeanne (Browning); daughter, Gillian and her husband, Scott and son Saken; sister, Beverly Jean; stepsons, James P. and wife, Dawn, and Jeffrey B. Hutchison and his wife, Ronda; and grandchildren Jeffrey, Sasha, April, Taylor, and Chance.
Mr. Hallam was preceded in death by his parents, George Vaus and Catherine; sisters, Florence and Gearldine, and two brother, Earl and George William.
