Wayne Nelson Masquelier

Wayne Nelson Masquelier, 90 years old of Cape Coral, FL passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Hope Hospice with his family by his side. He was born in McDonald, PA on July 21, 1935, the son of Frank and Esther Jiannino Masquelier.

A graduate of McDonald High School in 1953, Wayne enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955 and served on the USS Haven Navy Hospital Ship as a machinist stationed in Long Beach, California.

On May 7, 1956 Wayne married Patricia Adams of Oakdale, PA and in 1957 they returned to their roots of Western Pennsylvania to begin raising a family. In 1983 Wayne and Patricia followed their sons to Florida to begin the next chapter in their lives. Wayne worked at Hughes Supply, Inc for 23 years as a purchasing manager, retiring in 2006.

Wayne loved to work. Whether at his regular job, in his yard, on cars or homes, he always let his actions be his words and did so with great humility and sometimes even a wry sense of humor.

Wayne loved to read, do crossword puzzles and watch football on TV. He also became quite the talented guitar player enjoyed by family and friends. Waynes four grandchildren brought him the greatest joy in his life.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Frank and great grandson Oliver.

Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years Patricia, son Robert (Lisa) of Fort Myers, FL, son Roy (Mary Jo) of Cape Coral, FL, grandchildren Brad (Bethany), Kalee (Josh), Gina (Darin) and Melanie, and great grandchildren Emery, Sawyer, Jacob, Charlie, Brooks, William and Sloan. Wayne is also survived by loving sisters Shirley Roberts of Mars, PA, Donna Bennett of McDonald, PA and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in memory of Wayne Nelson Masquelier are suggested to The Salvation Army. Burial at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a future time and date.
