It is with much sadness that we tell you that Wayne Metcalfe passed away peacefully at home in Cape Coral, FL on July 14th. He was 84.
He was the love of my life as well as a wonderful Dad to his daughter, Dana (Bloch) and his son,Darren.
Wayne’s career was always in the glass industry. It took him from Toronto to Grand Prairie, TX., to Wilsonville, Oregon and lastly to Ruidoso, NM. He made a lot of friends along the way.
Wayne loved quarter horses and spent many hours in the saddle and at the race track. He once rode in The Last Great American Cattle Drive from Roswell, NM to the town of Lincoln, NM.
Wayne is survived by Cheryl, his wife of 48 years, his son, Darren and his daughter, Dana (Bloch), grandchildren Sidney, Dillon and Talia. He is also survived by his brother Gordon, sister-in-law, Margo and his brother Howard. Nieces Kelly (Connor)and her husband Chris, Vanessa and her wife, Liz, nephew Ben, Scott and his wife, Greta, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Leslie and his mother, Mabel.
The family has entrusted Mullins Funeral Home in Cape Coral for services. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later time.
