Wendy Gail Velvick

Wendy Gail Velvick, 70, a resident of Punta Gorda, FL since 1992, formerly of Rochester, MI, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. She was born September 17, 1954 in Flint, MI to Russell and Lois Durham, now deceased. Wendy was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Velvick in 2022.

Wendy was originally from Flint, Michigan and the family moved to Rochester in the late 60’s. She graduated from Michigan State University and worked as a production manager for General Motors for many years. She and husband Byron traveled to many parts of the Caribbean on their own boat before settling in Punta Gorda, Florida in 1992. Wendy was an avid reader and recreational sports enthusiast. She will be lovingly remembered for her great heart, sense of humor and her love of God.   

She is survived by her loving brothers, Craig Durham (Dawn) of Cape Coral, FL, and Kirk Durham (Florence) of Allentown, NJ. Nieces Kari Lynn Durham, Karissa Durham, and Danielle Durham. Nephews Bo, K.J. and great niece Holly.

Plans are pending for a family celebration of life.
