William (Bill) Wallace Maynard, a Fort Myers, FL resident, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2023. Bill was born in Milwaukee, WI, on May 26, 1937. He attended Nathan Hale Highschool and Carroll College in Milwaukee, graduating from college in 1960.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie (Aasen) Maynard, and daughter, Michelle McCalligan (Patrick McCalligan). Dear grandfather of William (Luke) Maynard, Rebecca Maynard, and Kelly McCalligan. Bill was preceded in death by his son, William (Kent) Maynard.
Bill was a police officer at State Fair Park (1958) and Wauwatosa Police department (1959-1963). He then established Bill Maynard Service (1963-2011); during that time, his service station was the most well-known in Milwaukee. He started with a two-bay shop on Oklahoma Ave and grew to a 50,000 sq ft facility independently owned in Greenfield, WI. Additionally, Bill also owned three U-Haul franchises. Bill attributed his success to the people he employed; they were the best!
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman; he hunted on three continents and was often accompanied by his wife, Bonnie. He hunted in northern Wisconsin with ten of his closest friends for over 50 years.
Bill loved cars and owned some of the finest vehicles during his life. His friends and family will dearly miss him.
