Barry Paul Thrasher

Barry Paul Thrasher, 72, a resident of Cape Coral, FL passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Sarasota, FL. He was born March 31, 1951 in Ft. Myers, FL to Paul and Mary Thrasher, now deceased.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Thrasher, a loving father, cherished grandfather, and devoted Masonic member. Barry departed this world leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering commitment to both family and community. Barry spent 72 years gracing the world with his presence. He was a native of N. Fort Myers, FL, and Lebanon, IN, where he cultivated the values that would define his remarkable life. Barry was a loving and devoted family man. As a father, he provided guidance, support, and unconditional love to his children. His role as a grandfather brought him immeasurable joy, and he delighted in creating lasting memories with his grandchildren.

As a Masonic member of 40+ years with receiving the highest honors of the 33rd Degree, Barry not only upheld the traditions of the organization but also played an active role in community service and philanthropy. He was known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether through his charitable endeavors or his Sunday school teachings at The First Baptist Church of Lebanon, IN, Barry touched the lives of many.

Barry was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty (Bob-deceased) Spencer and Barbara (Fred-deceased) Stephens, brother-in-law Ed Taylor, and granddaughter Cara Crane.

He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Taylor; daughters Ché (Tom) Fillbright, and Tiffany (Dave) Crane; granddaughters, Alyssa Baumgardt, and Kiersten McCoy; grandson, Brenden Montgomery; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life to be held in Cape Coral, FL at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Location details to be announced by family.
