Catherine Louise Rushton

Catherine Louise Rushton, 81, a resident of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Marquette, MI, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 in Lehigh Acres.  She was born July 28, 1943 in Templeglantine, Co. Limerick, Ireland to James and Eileen Woulfe, now deceased.

Cathy attended St. Raphaels Catholic Church of Lehigh Acres.  She grew up in Braintree Essex, England.  Cathy was a parachute packer for Courtaulds Factory in England when she met the love of her life, John, whom she married July 4, 1964.  She loved to travel and visit with family in England and Ireland.  She always had a smile on her face and a story to tell.  Cathy was a make up artist and sales rep for Max Factor as well as an owner along with her husband, John, of Formula One Auto Repair and Towing. 

She is survived by her loving husband, John Rushton of Lehigh Acres; three children, Sharon Rushton of Ishpeming, MI, Donna Rushton of Cape Coral and John Rushton of Minder, NV; two sisters, Patricia Woulfe of Braintree, England and Maureen Woulfe (Lorna Carpenter) of Baldwinsville, NY; one brother, Joseph Woulfe (Janet Burgess) of England; five grandchildren, Andrew Rushton (Aubrie Carlson), Amber Rushton, Tiffany Rushton, Jeremy Rushton and James Ward; three great grandchildren, Chance Rushton, Taylor Rushton and Peyton Scott as well as one on the way.

Catherine was preceded in death by four brothers, Sean Woulfe, Michael Woulfe, Shamus Woulfe and Albert Woulfe.

Committal Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL  33916.
