Chad Lee Bernthisel, 52, most recently of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on December 24, 2024, in Cape Coral, Florida.
Chad was born on May 29, 1972 in Bowling Green Ohio and was raised in Haskins Ohio.
Chad graduated from Otsego High School and was a member of the class of 1990. He was a natural athlete and participated in Football and Wrestling. From a young age, Chad had an exceptional work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. With his exceptional work ethic and passion for motorcycles, he made a career buying and selling motorcycles and powersport equipment for many years. Chad was a wealth of knowledge and very well respected within the industry.
Chad enjoyed motocross racing and after high school would often compete in local races. He was a talented golfer, participating in many golf leagues in NW Ohio and enjoyed golf trips with family members and his close group of friends. Chad had a very supportive family and fantastic circle of friends, and had the ability to make everyone laugh uncontrollably with his sense of humor and quick wit.
Chad's true passion was his children, AJ & Avery. He loved supporting them in all of their activities, whether it be football, volleyball, or baseball. Chad always looked forward to spending time with them on weekend camping excursions and annual family vacations. Chad shared a very special bond with AJ and Avery and loved being their father. Chad will be truly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Bernthisel; loving children, Aiden and Avery Bernthisel, both of Perrysburg, OH; three siblings, Christina Low (Darren) of Columbia, SC, Jennifer McVeigh (Jim) of Haskins, OH, and Patrick Schaller, of Switzerland; nieces, Stephanie (Devin) Spencer, Jessica Low, Emily and Allison McVeigh; as well as a nephew, Nathan (Shelby) Low. Great nieces; Elaina, Vivian, and Josie Spencer, and Adeline Low.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, James Bernthisel, uncle, Bob Bernthisel, sister, Jamee Bernthisel, and cousin, Ryan Bernthisel.
