David Alan Madison was born April 19, 1953 in Crystal, MN to James and Betty Madison. He was the 5th of six children. He was a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past two years, formerly of Maple Grove, MN, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Cape Coral.
During David’s high school career, he found a passion for gymnastics. He propelled himself to compete in the state all around gymnastic championship, that passion continued to coaching for the next 20 years. During gymnastic events, he was proud to have his daughter participate by walking out with the team for a show of support. His love of gymnastics spanned over the next 55 years, even teaching his grandchild the basics of tumbling.
His professional career started at Nilfisk-Advance, where he worked as a factory lead building industrial machinery. He eventually worked his way up, from the factory to the office, where he worked in customer service for 29 years. During the last 10 years of his career, he worked at Graco, an American Industrial company, in customer service. He was always happy to help problem solve and help people in need. David retired from Graco in 2015.
In the years since, David filled his time with golfing, traveling and meeting new people from the Cape Coral New residents Club. He enjoyed teaching his love of golf to his daughter and granddaughters. He always said, “golf is the most honest sport, it’s only you and the game.” He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather. David and Mary celebrated their 50’s anniversary by going on a 45 day cruise around the world, visiting Australia, New Zealand several Polynesian Islands and the Hawaiian Islands.
David was of the Episcopal faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Madison of Cape Coral; loving daughter, Heather (Vincent Bouat) of Middletown, NJ; three brothers, Ron Madison, Tom Madison, and Mark Hlavacek; as well as two grandchildren, Stella and Sophie.
Private family services will be held.
