Evelyn Holdren Strader

Evelyn Holdren Strader, 92, a resident of Fort Myers, Florida since 1964, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in Fort Myers.  She was born April 14, 1932 in Elgood, WV to Walter and Christie Holdren, now deceased.

Evelyn was a member of First Christian Church in Fort Myers. She had a 30 year career starting out as a school bus driver and retired as the assistant director of transportation of Lee County Schools. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving and caring lady who loved her family, friends and church family. She never wanted to miss an outing with any of them.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bill Swann of Wheeling, WV; granddaughter, Casi Fee of Lehigh Acres, FL.; great-grandchildren, Sadee Fee, Graycee Fee and Nayomee Fee; a great-great grandson, Jaze; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Melvin “Skip” Strader; two sisters, June Oates and Mickey Swann; as well as a brother, Walter Holdren Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024 the First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33901.
