Gary Nelson Ressler

Gary Nelson Ressler, 84 of Fort Myers, formerly of Sarasota, FL and Shamokin Dam, PA, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Fort Myers. He was born May 25, 1940 in Monroe Township, Snyder County, PA to Fae Ressler Kinney, now deceased.

Gary attended Saint Mathews Lutheran Church in Shamokin Dam, PA.  He graduated from Selinsgrove Area High School in 1958.  He was instrumental in the establishment of the Shamokin Dam Fire Company and volunteered on the force for many years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

He is survived by three loving children, Sonia Barlow (John) of  Mishawaka, IN, Shelly Sipp (Roger) of Ocean Ridge, FL and Shawn Ressler (Daphyne) of Winfield, PA; a brother, Paul Kinney (Lois) of Bloomsburg, PA; six grandchildren, Maddison Barlow, Nicholas Barlow, Ryan Sipp, Kyle Sipp, Kassidy Ressler and Bryce Ressler; one niece, Karen McCaffrey as well as one nephew, Scott Kinney.

Memorial contributions in memory of Gary Nelson Ressler are suggested to the Union County Sportsmen’s Club and Wildlife Sanctuary, 50 Sportsmen’s Club Lane, Millmont, PA  17845.
