Lillian Louise Saluska

Lillian Louise Saluska, 70, a resident of Estero, FL, formerly of Elgin, IL, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Cape Coral, FL. She was born on April 30, 1954, in Chicago, IL, to Alfred and Shirley Heckenast.

Lillian was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent over 40 years as a skilled hair stylist and beautician. In her spare time, she loved crafting, especially handmaking bracelets for her family and friends. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, and maintaining her saltwater and freshwater fish and coral aquariums. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three loving children: Christopher Skeen (Flavia) of San Diego, CA; Brandi Smith (James) of Estero, FL; and Tiffany Skeen of Elkhart, IL. She is also survived by her two brothers, Frank Heckenast (Michelle) of Frankfort, IL, and Steve Heckenast of Oak Forest, IL; two sisters, Kimberly Wedel (Steven) and Kathleen Heckenast (Chris), both of Crystal Falls, MI; her sister-in-law, Pamela Heckenast (late Alfred Jr.), of Opp, AL; her nine cherished grandchildren: Kendall, Autumn, Liam, Abbi, Caiden, Carter, Georgia, Johnny, Jaice and many nieces, nephews and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Alfred, and her stepmother Louise; her beloved brother Alfred Jr.; and her longtime love, Don “Tiny” Heinrich, with whom she shared many wonderful years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in IL.
