Robert Lee Bolinger, 68, a Cape Coral, Florida resident since 1983, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Fort Myers, FL. He was born November 7, 1956, in Baytown, TX to Robert and Dorothy Bolinger, now deceased.
He is survived by his beloved fiancé Tyler Criner of Cape Coral and her son Quade Criner of Fort Myers; as well as a brother, Tom Bolinger of Salem, VA.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two siblings, Roy Bolinger and Ruth Putnam Maxwell.
Robert ‘Bob, Bobby, Texas Rob’ Bolinger, a devoted carpenter by trade and respected structural building inspector for the City of Cape Coral, passed away suddenly leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering fellowship. Known and loved by many, Robert was a man of deep character—spiritual, generous, and full of heart.
For 30 years, Robert was an integral part of an extraordinary N.A. fellowship where he not only found purpose but also gave it freely to others. His wisdom was often delivered through unforgettable stories, quick wit, and the best hugs anyone could ask for. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
If you ever asked Robert how he was doing, he’d smile and say, “Too early to tell.” It was classic Robert—humble, thoughtful, and a little mischievous. His spirit was strong, his heart was giving, and his understanding of others ran deep.
The absence of Robert leaves a hole in many hearts. He will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know him, laugh with him, and walk alongside him.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held soon. Until then, may we carry his love forward—with open arms and big hugs, just a little bit of that Robert charm.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life service will be held July 20, 2025, from 12-4 pm at Four Freedoms Park, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
