Robert Eugene Huffer

January 16, 1951 — December 16, 2024

Robert Eugene Huffer, 73, of North Fort Myers, formerly of Leesburg, FL, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 in North Fort Myers.  He was born January 16, 1951 in Frankfurt, IN to William and Mildred Huffer, now deceased.

Robert was of the Christian faith attending the Church of God in Estero, FL. Robert was a remarkably successful salesperson who built genuine relationships with everyone he met. His charisma and ability to connect made him unforgettable to all who crossed his path. Robert loved to embrace new experiences and had an insatiable desire to learn. While his education came from life itself, his curiosity and openness taught him more than any classroom could.

He was a great listener, a man eager to seize every opportunity life presented. A true car enthusiast, Robert appreciated the unique qualities of everything, whether it was a classic car, a custom motorcycle, or an innovative design. His adventurous spirit led him to scuba dive and even take to the skies in ultralight airplanes.

Robert was deeply involved in his community, always ready to lend a hand or volunteer his time. He took pride in knowing he could make someone else’s day a little bit better, whether through his kindness, humor, or willingness to help whenever he could.

Robert was a devoted husband who found his greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones. He was a supportive husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather, brother and uncle. His family was the foundation of his life, and he poured his heart into every moment he spent with them.

He also had a deep love for dogs, sharing a special bond with his dog, Alfie. Alfie was not just a pet but a cherished companion who brought joy and warmth to Robert’s life.

His life was a testament to the power of kindness, curiosity, and living without fear. He inspired everyone around him to embrace life with open arms and to always look for the good in others.

Throughout his successful career in sales, Robert cultivated an endless network of friendships. He had an incredible memory, never forgetting a face or a story, and he had a unique ability to make anyone feel seen and valued. People often said, "You can’t take him anywhere without him knowing someone."

Robert’s warmth and humor were unmatched. He had a knack for bringing smiles to others with his stories and jokes, brightening even the darkest days. He also had a deep love for his community, frequently visiting local restaurants and supporting small businesses.

He was a man who lived life to its fullest, leaving behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and countless cherished memories.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Hamilton (Danielle) of Long Beach, MS; stepson, Todd Jenkins (Lori) of Daytona Beach, FL; two sisters, Nancy Huffer Bailey of Summerfield, FL and Mary Irene Huffer of IN; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren as well as Alfie, the dog.
