Stefan Wilk

Stefan Wilk, 91, a Cape Coral, Florida resident for the last two years, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL and Saugerties, NY, passed away Saturday, April 5^th, 2025, in Cape Coral. He was born November 2^nd, 1933, in Poland to Jacenty and Maria Wilk, now deceased. 

Stefan was of the Roman Catholic faith. Stefan along with his wife Stefania immigrated from Poland in 1965 with their four young children. They began working hard to build their lives in America. He retired from St. Claire’s Roosevelt Hospital in NYC as an Xray Technologist in 1996. His most memorable years were spent upstate in Saugerties, NY where he and his wife Stefania built their summer home, entertained family, and lifelong friends from their early years in Poland. These friendships were as close to their own families. This was a special place where he taught his children, grand and great grandchildren’s life skills as well as ice skating, fishing, skiing and gardening. Stefan, along with Stefania, spent their retirement years in West Palm Beach until they moved to Cape Coral. Stefan will be fondly remembered by calling his wife “darlink” and his habit of gently squeezing your shoulder or raising a glass to “sto lat.” Stefan was well respected and loved by all who were part of his life. He will be missed and remembered by everyone as a great father, grandfather, uncle, and father-in-law.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Stefania Wilk of Cape Coral; four children, Dorota Zois of Lynbrook, NY, Witold Wilk and wife Harriett of Kentucky, Stanislaw Wilk and wife Elif of Bokeelia, FL and Martinsville, VA, and Mariusz Wilk and wife Joy of North Ft. Myers, FL; ten grandchildren, Stefania, Theo, Ayla, A.J., Alexander, Christopher, Vasiliki, Christian, Matthew and Aidan; nine great grandchildren; as well as one sister in law. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and his son in law Paul Zois husband to Dorota Zois.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 22^nd, 2025, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, 12175 Stringfellow Rd., Bokeelia, FL 33922 with Father Jacek Mazur, officiating.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Stefan Wilk are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
