William ‘Bill’ Kemper Fording, Jr., passed into the loving hands of his Savior on February 24, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. He was 79 years old. Bill was born in Kokomo, IN in 1944 to William and Mildred Fording, Sr., now deceased.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in the 1963 and excelled in math. He would later become a journeyman electrician and a project manager at Houston Electric where he retired in 2007.
He met his future wife Carolyn Turner as a child. When he was fifteen, he expressed to her that God told him she was the one for him and that they would get married someday. They married on April 4, 1964.
In 1977, Bill heard the gospel, and he and the entire family chose to serve God. Bill had a tender heart and was always willing to serve. He was beloved by all and a good example of Christ to everyone who knew him. He loved God and family and was an extremely generous man. He and Carolyn went on mission trips to bless others and were always involved in church up until his last day on earth and his first day in Heaven. He now resides in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Fording; his children, Tami (Timothy) Wilson of Cape Coral, FL and Kokomo, IN, Kimberly (Robert) Rouse of Kokomo, IN, and Amber (Scott) Walters of Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Susan Fording and Diane Bryant; brothers, John Fording, Lloyd Fording, Ralph Fording, Jerry Elliott, and Robert Elliott; thirteen grandchildren, Sara, Thomas, Christopher, Casey, Kemper, Abigail, Tyler, Kinsey, Javen, Madison, Mariah, Isaac, Isabella; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Alexander, Elijah, Hudson, Easton, Kade, Wrenley, as well as one on the way.
William was preceded in death by his son, Travis William Fording; sister, Christine Salas; and brother, Michael Fording.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Citygate Ministries, 1735 Jackson St., Ft. Myers, FL 33901. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service.
