William Joseph Rice

William (Bill) Joseph Rice, 93, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Port Charlotte.  He was born November 5, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Agnes Rice (Clymer), now deceased. 

Bill served 4 years in the US Air Force followed by 28 years on the Philadelphia Police Force.  He and his wife Jerry moved to Cape Coral in 1992 where he worked as a security guard until 2019.  Bill attended St. Andrew Catholic Church of Cape Coral.  His favorite past time was fishing, boating and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his four loving children, William F. Rice (Jeanette) of Port Charlotte, John J. Rice of Cape Coral, Kevin M. Rice (Lisa) of West Deptford, NJ and Geraldine (Gigi) M. Tansey of Cape Coral; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Jerry) M. Rice in 2014 as well as a daughter, Cathy Duffy in 2013. 

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 29^, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
